Electronic signatures – the solution if you do not manage to be at a
certain place in order to sign official documents. This is only one example of
how present technology resolves security and authenticity problems for
documents signed in electronic format.
Looking forward, we should not be surprised when in the future people
will be assigned an official email address by the authorities, much like the social
security numbers now. It would be an email address with a special access code,
recognized by the authorities. Already in the banking system we have this
method where we receive a pin number, with which we can do transactions from
wherever we want – even from home.
In this era of digitalisation and globalisation it's crucial to have an
evolution, especially when we think of processes like e-Government, e-Health,
e-Commerce, etc. Taking the argument even further: maybe we should all link to
online clouds and all have an individual, but official space.
